Captain Capsicum was flying high when he interviewed Brent Livermore. The interview took place just before Brent went over to Athens for the 2004 Olympic Games.

Captain Capsicum:
Hi Brent, thank you for taking the time to chat to us today – especially as you are preparing for the upcoming Olympics. Going in to such an important event, can you tell us who has been the team’s toughest opponent?

Brent Livermore:
Every International match is a tough encounter. I enjoy the rivalry and competition against Holland, Germany as they play a man on man marking style. It is also very tough against teams like India and Pakistan.

Captain Capsicum:
It sounds very competitive. Hockey is such a demanding sport, can you please tell me about your worst ever injury.
Brent Livermore:
Popleteal Entractment release. I had to have an operation to unblock the main artery that runs down my leg due to a muscle that had developed around the artery and would retrict blood flow when exercising. Both legs had to be released as I had a 70-80% blockage in each leg.

Captain Capsicum:
My goodness that sounds amazing. What do you think has been your biggest achievement in sport?
Brent Livermore:
The Sydney Olympic Games.

Captain Capsicum:
You have such an impressive biography, have you ever had a losing streak?
Brent Livermore:
Not really.

Captain Capsicum:
Athletes put so much effort into their sport, is there any advice you can give us?
Brent Livermore:
Preparation and Analysis is vital to putting a performance together that may assist when you are on the field.

Captain Capsicum:
What are your favourite fruits?
Brent Livermore:
Watermelon, but I love all fresh fruit.

Captain Capsicum:
I especially love watermelon too. So what are your favourite vegetables?
Brent Livermore:
Pumpkin, but again I love all fresh vegetables and fresh food to that matter.

I’m starting to get hungry talking about all this food, what is your favourite food in general?
Brent Livermore:
All fresh food, vegemite and at the moment Lebanese and Indian Food.

Captain Capsicum:
If you hadn’t turned out to be such an incredible athlete, what do you think you would have chosen to do as a career?
Brent Livermore:
Physiotherapy or something to do with sport as I love this field of career and lifestyle.

Captain Capsicum:
You’ve certainly made a career out of it. What do you like to do in your spare time?
Brent Livermore:
Relax, surfing, camping, and if it is only short time just chill out with a good DVD to unwind some.

Captain Capsicum:
I’ve interviewed quite a few amazing athletes who all list a hero or someone they look up to, can you tell us who your hero is?
